SASKIA.H2R is SASKIA’s latest product formed from their drive to create an unparalleled accounting software. The German software company originally started building their software suite with Gupta development tools, which was later migrated to .NET WinForms with the help of Ice Tea Group and their European implementation partner fecher. But, technology and competition keeps moving.
We closely followed the development by ITG. Once Wisej.NET met our core requirements, we launched the project.
Satisfied with the results they had seen, SASKIA kept an excited eye on Ice Tea Group’s development. In the meantime, SASKIA was seeking to move to a web based solution. No matter what they tried, they were met with compromises. How could they leverage their already world class development team, trained in C#?
Many web frameworks would require them to build a new development team from the ground up. The development between the backend and frontend would be complicated and slow. What SASKIA needed was a full-stack solution. In 2022, they pulled the trigger with Wisej.NET.
Wisej.NET didn’t just allow SASKIA to make the move onto the web, but it allowed SASKIA.H2R to be completed with a modern UI/UX and launched in two short years.
The project began in November of 2022. A functional prototype was ready in February of the next year.
“Productivity is unmatched compared to our attempts with Angular” explains Ralf Köhler.
During the development of the prototype, SASKIA considered using a third party component library due to its functionality and visual appeal, but quickly found it to be underperformant. They then switched to Wisej.NET’s built in grids. Although it didn’t feature the same visual appeal in its basic configuration, the performance made up for this superficial lacking in spades.
Halfway through the project, it became apparent labels had to be moved above the input fields. WIth thousands of input fields, this seemingly simple task would take precious developer time to fix. But with the Wisej.NET Theme Builder, a powerful tool that allows for the complete cosmetic customization of all of Wisej.NET’s controls, this issue was made short work of.
Turning this spark of inconvenience into a new world of creativity, SASKIA decided to start a two month long redesign period, something that would be the death nail in projects built on less flexible frameworks. Be it complete redesigns or even small clarifications of functionality, the team behind Wisej.NET is committed to the success of every project.
