WiseJ Templates no longer available after upgrade to 2.5.16

I upgraded to 2.5.16 yesterday.  Today, the WiseJ item templates no longer appear in VS2019 when I go to Add-> New Item… in a WiseJ project.

I tried the steps outlined in

https://wisej.com/support/question/missing-project-templates-and-add-new-item-in-wise-1-x

to no avail.  After changing the folder settings then changing them back, not only do the Wisej item templates not appear, but the WiseJ “folder” in the item templates list is now missing as well.

I completely uninstalled 2.5.16 and re-installed to no avail.

I guess next I will uninstall and install an older version to see if that fixes it.  Meanwhile, suggestions appreciated!

Update: I removed 2.5.16 – not sure why the Auto-Updater ever offered me that version since I have the “Exclude beta builds” setting checked. I reinstalled 2.2.60 and still no WiseJ item templates. The template files are all present in the expected folders. Update: One of the template folder settings was still wrong in Visual Studio – fixing that made the templates re-appear, so all good now.

Hi Carl,

Do you have your Documents folder in it’s default place (i.e under C:\Users).

We had a similar situation, where the Documents are located on another drive.

Can you reset the default directory for the templates in VS and then reinstall wisej ?

Let me know if that works.

Best regards,

Alaa

Yep – everything standard. The key to making everything work is the requirement for .NET 4.8 and the need to change the Wisej references to nuget.

Hi Carl,

It’s great that the issue was resolved.

Let me know if you still have any issues with Wisej 2.5, I’ll be glad to help.

Best regards,
Alaa

Upon reinstallation of 2.5.16, all of the WiseJ item templates are once again missing from VS2019 (16.11.3). Update: After completing all of the steps in the included ReadMe.pdf, all of the item templates now appear and the application builds. Lack of .NET 4.8 support in VS2019 “out of the box” appears to be the main source of confusion. I just happened across the ReadMe.pdf file while looking through the installation folders, but unlike most readme’s, what it says is vitally important!
