New ChatControl?

Hi Wisej Team,

what is the ChatControl about?

You offered it as cool new control. Now installed it and the only thing I see are questionmarks above my head.
Zero documentation (even no “Coming soon”). The sourcecode on GitHub is not the same I get at nuget I think.
For example I can’t resolve DateSelectorMessageControl, FileMessageControl, LinkMessageControl.

But you showed these features (date, link, options) very early in the blog.
Where are all these features?

One example where you show off all funky stuff would be great.
The demo in the Hybrid example is really poor.

Hi Daniel,

thanks for your interest in our Chat Control extension.
Source code in GitHub is always updated for every Wisej.NET release, so now you will see the 3.5.3 code base,
while Wisej.NET 3.5.4 is currently in QA (there are also 3.5.4 preview builds on nuget.org during that process).

We are working on our documentation to cover the new extensions (including samples) and it will be available shortly.
I’ll update this forum thread then.

For the specific error on the Chat Control that you were facing it would be helpful to get a small test case and an information about the Wisej version you have been using.

Nuget and github are not always guarantees to be in sync. The chat control is a free cool extension provides with source code. If your specific issue is the compilation error we will look into it. If you attach a simple test case if would help.

General ranting doesn’t help especially on a free support forum.

    Well offering a cool new control without anything isn’t very cool. We pay very much for the wisej (TP) so I can ask what this offering should be. There are cool screenshots and videos, but no single line of documentation or example. I have to read the almost complete source code to half understand your concept. Only to see that the nuget won’t have the same codebase. I just want to understand why are you posting such a cool control and then leave us in the rain. And that’s no ranting my friend!! That’s criticism.

    The chat control is pretty amazing. We have been using it for some time in our projects. We were using the Telerik chat control but have been able to replace it with the Wisej chat control. We have been able add our own control extensions to make an inspection chat form which allows the user to answer questions and then based on their answers provide instant dynamic feedback for more details image/file attachments. If you dig into the code, you will be very pleased. I am also a (TP) and the support you can get from the TP support issues would likely lead to quicker responses, I know from experience on that! Tim
