Controls disappeared in design mode

I resumed my design after a period of inactivity and, when I opened one of my forms, I saw that nothing was showing in the design, just a few dotted outlines. The application still works, but working on the forms gets complicated.
I have also tried creating a new project from scratch to verify that it was not a single project-related problem, but there is still the same problem.
I attach the screenshot of the form displayed both in design and at runtime.
The version of Visual Studio is 17.8.0. The version of Wisej 3.5.0-beta.27 . I upgraded it to to see if the problem was fixed by the latest version.
Best regards.

hi Alaa, hi Julie,

installing the latest version of VSIX (3.2.7) did not solve it, while Julie’s suggestion did. Thank you both.

I saw on the page this warning: “We recommend to uninstall Wisej 3.0 using the previous msi installer, otherwise Visual Studio may use the older templates”.

What exactly is meant by this?

Incidentally, I saw that Wisej Auto Updater exposes an Amazon S3 Exception: “Amazon will stop supporting TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 connections. Pease update your client…”

How can it be updated?

Best regards.

We no longer provide updates via the Wisej Auto Updater, we ship them over Visual Studio Marketplace now via the VSIX installers. You would need to uninstall any previous 3.0 installations because the designer is registered in the GAC, and that’s why you’re getting a faulty designer, because VS prioritizes anything in the GAC, then from NuGet packages, then from the extensions.

Hi Alaa, I uninstalled Wisej 3.0.17 and that completely solved the designer problem. It now works on Edge mode as well. Thanks for the valuable help. Greetings to all the staff. Antonio

Hi Antonio,

In addition to what Julie suggested, you would also need to update the VSIX to the latest version.

You can get it from https://wisej.com/builds

HTH,

Alaa

Hello,

As a quick workaround, you can try changing the rendering options in the designer to use Internet Explorer instead of Edge.

I’ve attached a screenshot showing where the rendering options for the designer are located.
