Does the Trial license convert to community edition? I don’t see a way to get community edition license.

Instructions if anyone needs it:

1. Open VIsual Studio
2.Click “Extensions”
3.Click “Manage Extensions”
4.Click on the WIsej.NET Extension – you may have to search for it if there are multiple extensions
5.Click “Uninstall”

I have confirmed that this works. I had to uninstall the latest extension using instructions above – then install 3.5.12 – then activate the designer. Close Visual studio – install the latest version again.

In order to get the community edition license, you can click on “get it now” here. From there you can simply checkout. To see all of your licenses, click on “Support” in the upper right hand corner and then choose “Accounts” from the dropdown menu.

Also review the conditions here to make sure that you qualify for the Wisej Community License.

Hope this helps,

Julie

I’had the same error in a new installation from scratch and 3.5.15.2 Designer and i was not able to activate the designer.. To succesfully activate i need to uninstall the 3.5.15.2 release, install the 3.5.12.x release, activate the product and then upgrate the designer to 3.5.15.2. This i a bug.

Yeah – does not let me uninstall – emailing support.

Gabriele, I was able to reproduce and we have a fix that will be released in the next version of Wisej- 3.5.16

I used the latest build and selected community edition of visual studio – it installed – opening the designer does not ask me for the license – I get a “null reference exception” message =- but then it proceeds as normal and i can use the designer.

Gabriele, do you have multiple user accounts on your machine? Also read this: https://docs.wisej.com/docs/getting-started-1/troubleshooting

So do i just use the trial version installer ? That link only gets me the license key

  • Julie (ITG)
Based on your other comments, it looks like you’ve figured it out, but yes, it’s the same VSIX installer for community and trial (enterprise as well) and you can find it at https://wisej.com/builds/ Only difference is the license key that you enter

So -Question then – can I install the community License in Visual Studio 2022 Professional edition ?
  • Julie (ITG)
You can’t install the community license anywhere, it’s just a series of numbers and letters. You can install the Wisej extension in Visual Studio 2022 Professional edition and then you can activate it using the community license.
