Wisej 4.0 example applications compile, but can't open window1.cs for editing

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled Visual Studio 2022; reinstalled Wisej 4.vsix; confirmed extensions are installed ( Wisej.NET 4 is installed); run the example, it works well; tried to modify the Window1 to add i.e. a button and can’t open the window to edit.

It gives me the error: Timed out while connecting to named pipe

What am I missing?

Hi!
I have the same problem… How did you solve it?

Unfortunately, I’ve NEVER gotten a single Wisej 4 application to publish. I’m using Visual Studio 2026, couldn’t get it to publish in 2022 either. I’ve reverted to Wisej 3 (which was a lot of work) and am able to publish using it. For some reason, with WiseJ 4, it continues to think it is a Windows Forms application and won’t work.

Works perfectly well for me. In any case, publishing means simply to copy files. Just follow the IIS documentation. Or publish any other asp.net application and simply look at which files are copied over. I can tell you that it’s all your dll in /bin, default.json, web.config, default.html. A simple app requires 5 files. Easy peasy.

I downloaded the Wisej 4 examples and started the KeyboardHandling app as a simple app to try to get my publishing problem resolved.

It is defined as:

Output type: Console Application

Target Frameworks:

net8.0

Absolutely, no changes from the downloaded .zip file…

Hi Rusty,

Are you targeting .net9.0 instead of .net9.0-windows?

Best,
Alaa
