TreeView Check Auto Selects

I was just wondering if it is possible to (optionally) not have the current node selected in a treeview when you check it.

Currently we have a treeview which has a fairly substantial afterselect action.
I’d like to be able to check a number of nodes in the tree view quickly, but after each check it seems to trigger the afterselect action, which massively slows the workflow down.

Is there any way to tell it not to select the node I just checked ?
