OfficeViewer not working after upgrade from Wisej 1.5 to 2.5

Hi,

After upgrade from Wisej 1.5 to  2.5, OfficeViewer generates error “An error occurred. We’re sorry, but for some reason we can’t open this for you. Learn more” which leads to the error “This site can’t be reached. The web page at https://www.office.com/redir.aspx?assetid=HA102724036 might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE”

The Wisej OfficeViewer examples gives the same error whether deployed to localhost or server.

I built the Wisej Extensions 2.5 Wisej.Web.Ext.OfficeViewer and updated the solutions with the .dll,  same error.

http://demo.wisej.com/officeviewer/ works fine.

Thanks in advance for advice,

Roger

There was a push missing from my side. Update should be in Github now. Best regards, Frank

Hi Levie,

Please see test project zip here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AnNre5z3t0a9poIyyVqir5TxaM00UA?e=2l6qFG

This is the OfficeViewer project from wisej-examples-2.2 “as is” with the addition of NuGet packages Wisej-2 (2.5.23) and Wisej-2-OfficeViewer (2.5.22).

See deployed application at http://1aus.cloud/OfficeViewer/

Each of the 3 x buttons generates “An error occurred We’re sorry, but for some reason we can’t open this for you. Learn more

The “Learn more” link is broken.

I attached VS debugger to the deployed app on the development machine (which has same issue as the server) and an example URL which is generated by UpdateUrl () in the OfficeViewer is something like: “https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/view.aspx?src=postback.wx%2F401d774a-a3f9-f018-a649-8b29e08cd9d3%2FewAiAGkAZAAiADoAIgBpAGQAXwAzACIAfQA%3D”

Thanks, Roger

Hi Roger, This was a short problem with our extension. It will be fixed soon. But you can try to add the extension manually from “https://github.com/iceteagroup/wisej-extensions” and debug it. Also, any nuget on or before 2.5.19 works fine. Good coding Kevin (ITG)

Hi Kevin, thanks for the advice, any idea on the timescale for the fix (and should this be added to bugs)? I tried but failed to make any progress with either of your suggestions. Cheers, Roger

Hi Kevin,

By “localhost” I mean deployed to IIS on development machine, not debugging in Visual Studio.

Server is Windows Server 2019, same problem on 2 x servers and on local machine (Win 10).

Cheers,

Roger

Hi Roger, Is the document available from a publicly-accessible URL? Can you wrap up a small test case for us? TIA, Levie

Hi Roger,

Wisej.Web.Ext.OfficeViewer work only with pubic website not on localhost.

What type of server do you use?

Best,

Kevin (ITG)
