SVG Icons edited with an Overlay not accepting CSS Colors

Hi.

I have been creating our Icon’s project with success and have added many icons to it and used in the designer. This is so cool.

One thing we need is to edit some icons to add overlays to it. For example, a “document” icon may need a “check” overlay to it to show that it has been seen, and so on.

For this task, I am using Axialis IconGenerator, which makes the editing a real easy task. However, when I use the original icon, it changes color properly as set in the current applied Wisej theme, but once I add an Overlay to it, it doesn’t, and it stays all black no matter where it is used (Window Caption, MenuBar, etc.).

I have attached two icons as an example, and some results.

Would anyone know if there is something I could do to correct this?

Thanks in advance.

Ivan

Hi guys.

With the help of the icons8.com support team, I was able to make it work. Just had to edit the .svg file and get rid of any “fill” entries in it. In case of them all being black, they will look like fill=”#000000″. So, after deleting them all, my icons with overlays started coloring just fine according to the application theme selected.

Cheers.

OK, just to leave it documented for anyone who steps into this, I have just found out about .svg “strokes” too. So, what has been really effective is to replace all defined colors by “currentColor”, which seems to be the way the Wisej folks worked with the .svg icons supplied by the framework.
