[SOLVED] Invalid Server License - upgrading to WiseJ 3, .Net Core

Hi support,

We are updating our WiseJ 1.5 application to WiseJ 3 and .Net Core.  We are now progressing toward deployment and have, initially, deployed to our TEST environment, which is on the production server as a separate IIS Website, alongside the production Website.

We are getting:
Invalid Server License
Status: NetworkError
Expiration: –

We have generated a Wisej Server Community License in our account to use for testing, and have confirmed this is applied both to Web.config and appsettings.json, however the error still shows.

C:\ProgramData\IceTeaGroup\Wisej\wisej-server.lic still exists but is required until we upgrade the production WiseJ 1.5 application, however according to https://wisej.com/support/question/invalid-server-license-4, this shouldn’t matter if the key is specified in web.config.

Could you please advise what we have missed?

Regards,
Neil

Please disregard.  All sorted.

In case others have the same issue …

FortiNet on the server was blocking w3wp.exe.  This “blocking” was not preventing it (that is, IIS) from working, but rather preventing it making an outbound internet connection (presumably to validate the WiseJ license).  Adding a Fortinet exception fixed the issue.

Neil
